Miss Sophie T

Qualified Teacher and Translator. I am Welsh and English native and fluent in French, Spanish, and Italian. I hold a BA in French and Italian, a PGCE in modern languages and Welsh, and a Masters in Translation. I have travelled around the world teaching adults and teenagers, whilst learning new languages and perfecting the ones I know along the way. I worked at a top language school in Madrid, Spain and became fluent in Spanish. I later returned to the UK to complete a PGCE and have worked in British schools teaching modern languages and Welsh to key stages 3, 4, and 5. I am able to teach through both Welsh and English. My travels, experience, and studies mean that my lessons are linguistically-rich but also inform about culture and country-specific customs. I am up-to-date with various syllabuses but also individualise lessons to meet the specific requirements of the student. Teaching languages for me is a joy and I aim to transfer this passion for languages to those I teach.

SUBJECTS TAUGHT:
French, Spanish, Italian, EFL or ESL
Qualifications:
Masters in Translation, Cardiff University (2019). PGCE Modern Foreign Languages, Cardiff Metropolitan University (2015). BA (Hons) French and Italian, Cardiff University (2011).

Prior to my current job, I lived in France where I taught English to a wide range of ages, including adults and children. I like to provide a fun, yet challenging language learning experience, and I offer an engaging and confidence-building approach for those facing exams.

SUBJECTS TAUGHT:

Qualifications:
