I am an experienced French and Spanish teacher, holding a PGCE from Newcastle University dating from 2000. I have held Head of Languages posts in several UK secondary schools in London, Leeds and the North East. I am currently Head of MFL at a secondary school in County Durham. I have taught French and Spanish to all age groups from primary to university level in the UK, as well as in France, Canada and Mexico. I hold a BA in French and Italian from Birmingham University and a DEUG, MA and MPhil in French from Grenoble and Lyon Universities in France. I have been a moderator for the AQA exam board for A2 French and an examiner for AQA GCSE French speaking. This year I will be an examiner for the AQA and Pearson GCSE French and Spanish writing examinations. Since March 2020 I have conducted many French and Spanish lessons online through TEAMS. Teaching languages is my passion and I thoroughly enjoy imparting my knowledge to foreign language learners!!

Experience in teaching primary pupils (current school is a through-school from Reception to Year 11). I have eight years of experience working with children from the ages of 0-17years. I hold a TEFL qualification and am trained in Philosophy for Children (P4C) and autism. Having originally trained in design, I always try to apply creativity to my lessons and believe that education should always be enjoyable.
