I am an experienced French and Spanish teacher, holding a PGCE from Newcastle University dating from 2000. I have held Head of Languages posts in several UK secondary schools in London, Leeds and the North East. I am currently Head of MFL at a secondary school in County Durham. I have taught French and Spanish to all age groups from primary to university level in the UK, as well as in France, Canada and Mexico. I hold a BA in French and Italian from Birmingham University and a DEUG, MA and MPhil in French from Grenoble and Lyon Universities in France. I have been a moderator for the AQA exam board for A2 French and an examiner for AQA GCSE French speaking. This year I will be an examiner for the AQA and Pearson GCSE French and Spanish writing examinations. Since March 2020 I have conducted many French and Spanish lessons online through TEAMS. Teaching languages is my passion and I thoroughly enjoy imparting my knowledge to foreign language learners!!

I am a fully qualified and experienced (16 years) Primary teacher, now a part-time supply teacher. I teach all core subjects within the Primary National Curriculum, from Curriculum For Excellence (CfE) Early Level to Second Level (Primary 1 to 7), across all ages and abilities. I specialise in teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL) and Support for Learning (SfL) for Language and Maths. I always strive to motivate and engage my learners and I do this by getting to know them, finding out their interests and differentiating my planning and teaching to meet the individual learning needs of each child in order to maximise his/her potential. I also believe in positive behaviour management which means lots of encouragement, praise and rewarding effort. Special Educational Needs (SEN) experience.
