I gained my degree in Spanish from the University of Exeter and as part of this, lived and worked in Spain as an English teacher in a Spanish school. After graduating I worked as an MFL teacher in schools in Birmingham for six years, after gaining a PGCE and QTS as part of my teacher training. During this time I also completed my Masters in Educational Leadership. For the past 3 years I was Head of Languages in my school and have experience of teaching French and Spanish to GCSE level and Spanish to A Level. I now work for an educational charity, overseeing the development of trainee teachers in disadvantaged schools in London.

Pauline M

PGCE Modern Foreign Languages, Christ Church University, Canterbury.

Member since 2019 Mrs Pauline M

I am a French native speaker. I moved to the UK fifteen years ago. I worked in a mixed secondary school for over thirteen years where I held various positions from classroom teacher to head of the language department and finally to head of sixth form. I loved all these different roles but the one that I am the most passionate about is definitely classroom teacher. My main subject is French and my secondary subject is Spanish. I have taught French to all years - from pre-school children to adults. I have many years of experience teaching French and Spanish GCSE. Even though, six months ago, I decided to take a break from teaching in schools, I am up to date with the latest requirements and demands of the new GCSE examinations. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring - I find it very interesting and rewarding.
