I have worked for fourteen years as a Primary School Teacher and taught in three challenging inner city schools in the Sheffield area. My role as Phase Leader involved managing a team of six teachers and teaching assistants and I have also mentored PGSE teachers through their NQT year. My primary focus is to offer engaging and challenging experiences for all children, allowing them to develop self confidence and a belief in their abilities. I have significant experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and teach all core subjects across the Primary Curriculum. I am more than happy to provide online tuition via Zoom and my sessions are are highly personalised to allow children to make good progress through the curriculum.

I am an experienced primary school teacher with Qualified Teacher Status. I have taught throughout the primary phase. I have worked with students both on a one to one basis, groups and full classes. This has also included online tuition via Zoom and Microsoft Teams alongside more traditional face to face tuition. I can support any primary school students and coach children for the 11 plus exam. I can also help children who are behind expectations in high school and support them to catch up. My excellent communication skills and solid academic background enable me to be an effective tutor particularly within the core subjects of English and maths. I work with students at Independent schools as well as those from Grammar and Non-Selective State schools. I am very approachable, focused and passionate about tutoring. I have also been an Edexcel Examiner for the Key Stage 2 Reading paper.

I've been tutoring privately for nearly 20 years, doing this alongside a range of other jobs including project management, university teaching, proofreading, translating, interpreting and ghost writing. I offer English, French, Italian and also English as a Foreign Language, and can teach students of all ages from lower secondary school age upwards. Where required I can prepare students for specific exams including GCSEs, 'A' levels and IELTS. I tutor both face-to-face (when we're not in the middle of a pandemic!) and also online. I'm familiar with a variety of online platforms including Zoom, Skype and Teams, and when teaching virtually I also make use of e-mail to send materials back and forth. I enjoy tailoring lessons to the needs of each student and am always happy to answer any questions you might have. It's also no problem to try a lesson or two before deciding whether or not you'd like to continue.
