I am an experienced, qualified teacher, fully DBS checked. Over a number of years, I have taught all year groups from early years to year 6 and have experience of teaching children with a range of life challenges. For more than thirty years I have tutored English to GCSE level and maths to year 6. I have also tutored piano to children and adults with an age range from 6 years to 96. My years as a year 6 teacher and my tutoring experience have given me the opportunity to specialise in preparation for year 6 SATs and 11+. I have also successfully tutored adults to improve their reading and writing skills and offer creative writing lessons as well as more formal writing structure and grammar tuition. As a published author, I am passionate about helping children to discover a love for reading; I believe that the ability to read and write confidently can open up opportunities for children to reach their full potential in whatever sphere of life they choose to pursue.
