Mr Tim P

I am currently tutoring English Language and Literature from KS2 to A Level and on up to University standard. I qualified as a teacher with the London Waldorf Seminar in Baker Street and went on to teach English Language and Literature from primary to A Level in two Steiner Schools. I then worked for three years delivering literacy support to teenagers and adults with SEN at Newham College of Further Education. Furthermore, I have three years of experience privately tutoring students in English Language, Literature and Classics from year 6 to University level. Specialising in GCSE and A Level English, y balances the more individualized approach to language found in Steiner education: taking the time to elicit the strengths of a student's individual learning style, with equal emphasis on academic methods alongside. I have found this approaching very effective in getting students over their blocks. Once a little time is taken with this, the grades achieved are often exceptionally high.

SUBJECTS TAUGHT:
English, English Literature, English Language, Classical Civilisation
Qualifications:
London Waldorf Seminar Teaching Diploma. Steiner House, Baker St. MA with Merit in English, Birkbeck College, London. BA (Hons) 2:1, Humanities with Classical Studies, The Open University.
