Having taught to the national curriculum in both countries, I recognise the learning expectations for each year group which helps me understand where the children have come from in their learning and what their targets should be. I consistently use formative and summative assessments to find gaps in pupil learning and then use this information to tailor resources and lessons to meet their needs (SEN inclusive).
