I have over 15 years experience as an English teacher and I have taught in mainstream classes in Secondary Schools and in Sixth Form Colleges. I have worked with a variety of students, from EAL Students on a 1 : 1 basis within a school to privately, from a home setting, mainly teaching GCSE. English Literature and Language. I tutor students in preparation for A-Levels and GCSEs, from a variety of schools in Sheffield including Westbourne School, Birkdale School, Sheffield Girls High School. I enjoy this 1 : 1 work, as I am able to specifically adapt work for individual students, giving them a personal tutoring service that brings some rewarding results. I am currently tutoring students at Year 9, 10 and 11.

I am a highly qualified, motivated Teacher of English and Special Educational Needs, with 25 years of experience. I taught at Queens` School, Bushey, Hertfordshire, where I was Deputy Senco, before moving back to my hometown of Doncaster to care for an elderly parent. I love 1-1 and small group work and would love to do a small amount of tuition if possible. I have taught English at Secondary level (11-18) and have a great deal of experience with students who find the curriculum challenging, including teaching at entry level. I have also taught basic numeracy, preparing students to tackle the Foundation Paper at Maths GCSE.

Now, I am a successful self-employed home tutor, who teaches English Language and English Literature from Key Stage 2 through to GCSE, across all the major examination boards: AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC. I also prepare students in Years 12 and 13 for their GCSE English Language re-sits. Also, I have a wide and extensive range of SEN experience, particularly students with Autism.
