Mrs Elizabeth P

I went into teaching because I love literature and I love working with young people! I have worked in independent schools since 2005 and as a private tutor since 2013 and have taught all the major exam boards at GCSE, iGCSE and A level as well as 11+, 13+, ACT and SAT prep, and Literature at undergraduate level. I specialise in preparing students for Ripon Grammar School and for Common Entrance. Additionally, I have taught many home educated students at KS3, GCSE and A level, which is a particular passion of mine. I have examined for OCR, AQA and CIE and have also taught Drama and Theatre Studies A level. I also have many years of experience tutoring students re-taking GCSE English. I believe that study and revision skills are incredibly important and always teach them alongside academic subjects, have QTS and a Boarding Schools Association certificate in pastoral care, and complete the statutory Keeping Children Safe in Education training yearly.

I am a History graduate and Literacy teacher with 26 years of experience. I am a full member of PATOSS (Professional Association of Teachers Of Students with Specific learning difficulties). I have extensive experience and training in teaching students with dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism, ADHD and moderate learning difficulties. I specialise in teaching reluctant readers and students with spelling difficulties. I can offer tuition in Primary English, KS3 English and GCSE English Language/English Literature and History. I can create a curriculum bespoke to the student’s interests and enthusiasms so that they are motivated to learn.
