I teach Engish from Key Stage 3 through to GCSE, IGCSE and Functional Skills, across all the major Exam Boards; I teach English Literature at GCSE, including all set texts and poetry options. Mrs Kirsty W

Qualified and experienced English Teacher, currently working full time as a 1 to 1 tutor providing English tuition for a range of different students. Many of my students are currently homeschooled, so I have experience in planning and delivering a supportive but engaging curriculum for these students. I can also help and support with the arrangement of exams for private GCSE students at exam centres. I teach English Language and Literature to Primary and KS3, building skills and confidence. I teach GCSE across all the major Exam Boards. I’m currently a GCSE examiner for WJEC, marking English Language and Literature papers. I can also teach English Literature through to A Level. I have SEN experience, supporting students within school and at home. This includes teaching and offering specific support for students with Dyslexia and other learning difficulties. Qualified and experienced teacher of English Language and Literature at KS3.KS4 and KS5. I have over 40 years of teaching experience at all levels, including Head of Department and have also been an examiner for AQA, Edexcel and WJEC. I have also taught in a variety of institutions such as secondary schools, Further Education and Adult Education. I am also a qualified counsellor and currently also tutor adults in this subject alongside my work as a Home Tutor. The skills are interconnected in that I understand the need to listen empathically to my students as well as motivate and teach them the necessary skills and knowledge to gain good grades.
