Experienced English Teacher and History Graduate. I have a passion for education and learning, and for English and History. I am very self-motivated, well organised, excellent at timekeeping, driven to achieve my goals and ambitions, support students to achieve theirs and engage with my own CPD. I have experience of teaching and supporting a diverse range of students, and experience of teaching in different educational settings. As part of my PGCE, I worked at City College Plymouth teaching Functional Skills and GCSE English to young adults and mature learners. Since then I have taught KS3 and KS4 English as a Supply Teacher, have worked as a Personal Tutor to a GCSE student and have taught EAL students at the Europa Summer School, the Meridian School and at Mercator. I firmly believe that everyone should have an equal opportunity to succede and that all educational environments be a safe place. I am a qualified and experienced English Teacher, who taught for 30 years at Millfield School in Somerset. I taught English Language and English Literature from Key Stage 3 through to GCSE, IGCSE, and A Level. I set and marked exam papers for the scholarship exam and other entrance cexams into the school. I was in charge the Common Entrance assessment process. I was also the Oxbridge mentor for pupils in the Sixth Form. I was heavikly involved in the university application priocess, writing hundreds of UCAS references for students. In 2017, I was featured as an "inspiring teacher" in the TES.
