I am an experienced Primary School Teacher of 16 years. I am patient and approachable and can quickly build a good working relationship with children of all ages. I have an enhanced DBS which is in the update service. I am experienced at teaching remotely via online platforms (Zoom, Bramble, Google Meet). I can teach any subject in the Primary Curriculum, including phonics and I have recently been trained in Red Write Inc, Talk4Writing and The Write Stuff. Mr James C

A wealth of experience in education. Over the last 30 years he has worked with all ages/all levels from Early Years to undergraduate level. A Primary-trained Infant teacher (B.Ed Hons), James has an MA in Children's Literature (Distinction) and has lectured in English/Creative Writing at the University of Reading, taught English as a Foreign Language, worked as an English tutor/teacher at Secondary level - and as a private tutor from Early Years to A level. An award-winning poet, James is an Ambassador for National Poetry Day and has written numerous critically-acclaimed poetry/non-fiction books for children as well as resource manuals for Primary/Secondary teachers. In the last 18 years, James has visited over 1400 Primary/Prep/Special schools to run poetry workshop days. His greatest passion is that of encouraging children to write - to nurture, develop and extend their literary skills as well as their powers of expression and communication. James lives with his family in South Oxfordshire.
