Ms Heather Frances G

I’m an experienced, caring and reflective practitioner with a strong history of raising GCSE attainment in a short space of time. I’ve been teaching English Literature and Language in both state and private schools, over the last 12 years. I’ve also taught GCSE Media and A Level Literature, along with a few years of teaching KS2 English (along with a few other Humanities based subjects). I’ve also taught Dance and Drama at Key Stage 3, I’m a qualified journalist and I’ve been Key Stage 3 English Lead on three occasions in my career! I write for pleasure still, and of course actively read for pleasure! Currently I’m reading Bill Bryson’s ‘The Body’ as I love his journalistic style, having just finished ‘Notes from a Small Island’. I possess strong experience of teaching to most exam boards - WJEC, IGCSE (I’m an accredited moderator), AQA and some Edexcel (though not Literature). She has always said that she enjoyed her sessions with you and found them extremely useful. You have really helped to restore her confidence as she recovered from Long Covid and she felt that her exam on Tuesday went well. Mrs Kate W

I have a 25-year track record of guiding students to excellent A Level, GCSE and school entrance exam results. My intention is always to equip young people with the rigorous skills needed to attain strong grades, whilst nurturing their flair and imagination. As a full-time tutor I am available for weekday, daytime sessions and welcome students who are being home schooled or struggle in a school environment. Years of experience as a GCSE and A Level examiner have given me insight into why some students succeed above others. I recognise every child is different and every child thrives on personalised, flexible ways of learning. This is particularly vital when tutoring dyslexic students and those with concerns around processing and retaining information. I am convinced that my expertise and 'can do' teaching style gives all students the confidence to flourish. My forensic knowledge of entrance requirements for prestigious schools, means that your child will have the best possible chance.
