I am a History graduate and Literacy teacher with 26 years of experience. I am a full member of PATOSS (Professional Association of Teachers Of Students with Specific learning difficulties). I have extensive experience and training in teaching students with dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism, ADHD and moderate learning difficulties. I specialise in teaching reluctant readers and students with spelling difficulties. I can offer tuition in Primary English, KS3 English and GCSE English Language/English Literature and History. I can create a curriculum bespoke to the student’s interests and enthusiasms so that they are motivated to learn. I am currently a full-time PhD student and a trustee of Teach First. I am an experienced primary school teacher with Qualified Teacher Status. I have taught throughout the primary phase. I have worked with students both on a one to one basis, groups and full classes. This has also included online tuition via Zoom and Microsoft Teams alongside more traditional face to face tuition. I can support any primary school students and coach children for the 11 plus exam. I can also help children who are behind expectations in high school and support them to catch up. My excellent communication skills and solid academic background enable me to be an effective tutor particularly within the core subjects of English and maths.
