Miss Roshelle C

I am a current Head of English at an inner-city Leeds school. I have worked in a range of different settings, with a range of different students with varying needs. I have taught AQA English GCSE Language and Literature for the past five years and I have been an examiner of these subjects for the past four years also. This provides me with an insider's insight into what the exam board wants from students and how to help them achieve it. Furthermore, this also has ensured I have a good understanding of all the texts on the Literature GCSE. I have also worked closely with students with SEND and EAL needs, teaching English to students who are new to English. I have experience in guiding new to English students through their GCSEs whilst also teaching them basic to more intermediate English. In addition to GCSE English, I have taught a range of different topics at KS3 and I am able to expertly teach grammar, SPAG, writing and reading skills to year 7-9 students to prepare them for their GCSEs.

Prepares students for GCSE (experienced in AQA and EDEXCEL) , SATS and school entrance exams. I have been a full time tutor for over ten years and as such, can dedicate the time and energy needed to give students the best experience, as well as time to research appropriate materials and liaise with parents and sometimes a student's school teachers. As well as having excellent subject knowledge, being able to build a student's confidence and put them at ease is essential for effective learning and I place great importance on these two aspects.

Ms Tracey L

Hello, I'm Tracey. Before joining Teachers To Your Home, I worked as a teacher for over 20 years - in secondary schools, where I was in charge of English and Languages, and then as a centrally employed tutor for the local council, providing specialised one to one tuition. I love my subject - I'm fascinated by how we use (and mis-use!) language and I hope I pass on some of my enthusiasm to my students. I've been told that I'm good at explaining and at coaxing responses out of students who maybe don't have confidence in their own abilities but I'll let you be the judge of that. During my career, I have taught both young people and adults and am competent to use SEN and EAL techniques when appropriate. I also mark for GCSE, so I know what examiners are looking for in students' responses. I've done a lot of online teaching recently and this has enabled me to develop strategies that allow students to get the best from this type of learning although obviously it's nice to work face to face when I can.
