Mrs Heidi J

Having seen my own children through their GCSE and A-level exams, I have personal experience of the anxieties these difficult years can cause both students and their parents. I am patient and motivated to see students achieve success as a result of hard work. I am happy to travel to students or the welcome them to my home in Wantage. During the pandemic I have successfully delivered tutoring online via Zoom, Facetime and Microsoft Teams. I am a qualified teacher with 24 years' experience of teaching Maths, tutoring primary and secondary school aged children and students taking GCSE exams. I currently teach maths and tutor students from Key Stage 1 through to GCSE and IGCSE; Functional Skills English and Maths for adult students and support GCSE and IGCSE resits. I tutor both in person and online. I am familiar with a variety of exam boards including AQA and Pearson. My most recent GCSE students achieved grade 5, grade 7 and grade 8 respectively (Summer 2020) and grade 5 and 7 respectively (Summer 2021).

Dr Michael J

I am a long-time teacher, lecturer, examiner and professional tutor with a patient, confidence-building approach. I have successfully taught at over ten schools, four major universities and hundreds of private students. I also hold qualifications in educational psychology and in supporting adult dyslexia. My approach is friendly, gentle and supportive but extremely professional. I aim to combine creative and emotionally engaging teaching with expert subject knowledge. At the heart of my tutoring is how important it is that a student believes in their own ability to learn and to progress. If there is one word I hear my students kindly use to describe my qualities it would be 'patience'. Yet I never feel like my patience is tested - I love the challenge of finding new, innovative ways to help them understand their subject. I enjoy music festivals, running and long walks with our dog Maple.

A little more about Eynsham

Eynsham is the fourth largest settlement in West Oxfordshire and an important crossing point over the River Thames. It is an expanding village about 5 miles north-west of Oxford and about 5 miles east of Witney, in Oxfordshire. The current population is around 5,000.

We have a large number of teachers who provide high quality home tuition in Eynsham and in the surrounding area, including Appleton, Bladon, Cassington, Church Handborough, Cumnor, North Leigh, Northmoor, South Leigh, Standlake, Stanton Harcourt, Stonesfield, Wilcote and Woodstock.
