Mr Philip W

I have been a Head of Department of English and drama for 21 years. I have taught a range of subjects; consistently producing ‘outstanding lessons’ and excellent outcomes. I have taught students from key stage 2 to adult learners, and have extensive experience with a range of SEN, including with primary children, as well as designing schemes of work and individual education plans for SEN children. My expertise is in A level literature (poetry and Shakespeare) and have been an examiner at both GCSE and A level. I am able to evaluate key strengths and areas that require improvement for pupils that informs subsequent bespoke planning. For the past four years I have operated as a tutor of English, both face-to-face and on-line. I am a teacher of 14 years' experience and thoroughly enjoy my job. I taught for 10 years in London in a range of schools before moving to a Grammar School in Buckinghamshire. I am currently Acting Head of English at Rickmansworth School in Hertfordshire.
