Mrs Penny Ireland M

Qualified specialist SEN teacher with over five years of experience working within local SEN schools (One private Autistic school 7-19 years and one state run SEN college 4-19 years age range) Originally a Secondary Geography teacher graduating from The University of Bath in 1999, I have lived and worked in London and Dubai before returning to my home city Chester. I currently tutor autistic students (age 8-16) who are not in full-time education. My point of difference is my ability to communicate effectively with SEN children, remove barriers to learning and make learning fun.

Ms Abigail F

I have been an English teacher for eighteen years, Head of English for eight of those years, and a Head of School for the past six years. As well as teaching English at KS3, 4 and 5, I am also a GCSE examiner and KS2 SATs examiner. I have also examined A-level Literature. I have taught all exam boards, either in my role as an English teacher or tutor, and my results at GCSE and A-Level are consistently excellent. At A-Level I tutor in the areas of genre, textual study, context, wider reading and extended coursework elements. Throughout lockdown, I taught via Zoom, and I am happy to offer tutoring via this medium to students as I have found it to be an excellent method of intervention. I graduated from the University of Durham in 1998 and worked as a Chartered Accountant for four years before completed my PGCE in English in 2003.

Miss Fiona W

I am an experienced primary school teacher with Qualified Teacher Status. I have taught throughout the primary phase. I have worked with students both on a one to one basis, groups and full classes. This has also included online tuition via Zoom and Microsoft Teams alongside more traditional face to face tuition. I can support any primary school students and coach children for the 11 plus exam. I can also help children who are behind expectations in high school and support them to catch up. My excellent communication skills and solid academic background enable me to be an effective tutor particularly within the core subjects of English and maths.
