Member since 2016 Mr Paul B

I believe myself to be a bright, engaging and enthusiastic tutor, creating a calm environment to allowing students to achieve their highest. I specialise in tutoring Independent schools entrance exams, including Roedean and Brighton College, as well as the 11+ and 13+ for schools in the Kent Local Authority. With the parent and student, I prepare a learning program of what will be content needs to be covered, within the different subject categories of for example the 11+. The content will depend on what spaces there may be in the students learning, which I identify via an assessment. This is in preparation for exam practice with specific question practice (exam technique), before moving onto timed tests to ensure the student becomes familiar with timing themselves through the exam properly. I always discuss with parents how each session has gone, and leave the student with follow up work which we then go through in the next session to ensure the concepts covered are properly understood.

Subjects: Primary, SEN and Learning Support, English, Maths, English Language, English Literature, School Entrance Exams, SATs, 11+, 13+
