Ms Joanne P

An experienced full-time tutor since 2011 with six years teaching experience in the secondary private and state sector in London and Wiltshire, I have been described as a bit of a polymath. I tutor a wide range of subjects, though my specialisms include English and history at all levels and maths up to and including GCSE. I excel at shaping and creating the evidence of quality learning, sparking creativity, and helping students to see the logical steps and links between one concept and another. With this comes confidence, curiosity, and even enjoyment in subjects previously found daunting and difficult. I am a Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages who is close to retirement from a post in which I am Head of Department, Deputy Safeguarding Lead and Pastoral Head of Years 5-8. I am considering taking early retirement (at 55) in September and would love to continue teaching in some form so this seemed ideal. I have always had excellent results at GCSE and A-Level in French and have taught Russian, Spanish, Italian and English in my career to date and have taught across all key stages in both primary and secondary.
