I have been tutoring English for almost 20 years. I have experience teaching at Primary level supporting SATs and reading intervention, as well as teaching secondary GCSE English. Currently I am working as a literacy intervention teacher, supporting transition from Year 6 to 7 and also GCSE English language, as well as tutoring English. I have experience as a literacy teacher at KS1 and KS2, supporting SATs and 11+/School Entrance Examinations. I have a great deal of experience working as a private tutor supporting students on a one-to-one basis, in person and online, I am a fully qualified Reading Recovery Professional. Elklan trained speech, language and communication specialist. SEN experience. I have also recently worked as an examiner for AQA English language GCSE.

I specialise in building confidence and helping a student reach their full potential, by using methods that suit the individual student. In addition, I aim to challenge more able students. I have extensive knowledge and experience of SPLD, ASD and students with anxiety and mental health conditions and school refusers and I seek to find practical solutions to the issues these students face.
