I am a highly qualified, experienced secondary school English Teacher. I have spent most of my career teaching English in an 'Outstanding' secondary school in Derby. Four years ago, I became a full time self-employed English tutor. I teach English Language and English Literature from Key Stage 2 through to GCSE, across all the major examination boards: AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC. Also, I have a wide and extensive range of SEN experience, particularly students with Autism, ASD and Dyslexia. In addition, when I was Assistant Head of Year in school, I was responsible for mentoring students with a wide range of social and emotional issues. My principal job was to alleviate students’ anxiety and any barriers, so they felt confident to reach their full potential and achieve good grades. As a full time tutor, I have also taught home education students, creating a calm and purposeful learning environment, which allows the learner to feel comfortable and confident in order to achieve their full potential.
