I am a qualified Primary school teacher with nearly 30 years experience teaching children from Early Years to Year 6. I was the Maths subject leader for many years at my last school and am particularly skilled and interested in helping children achieve their potential in this subject. As a teacher who has worked across all age ranges within primary school I have always done my very best to ensure that all the children in my class achieve their potential. I continually strive to improve my own practice through CPD and reflection so that the needs of all children are met. My teaching and learning has consistently been judged as very good to outstanding for all year groups I have taught and I have a proven track record of achieving good progress and attainment for all children.

I’m an experienced, caring and reflective practitioner with a strong history of raising GCSE attainment in a short space of time. I’ve been teaching English Literature and Language in both state and private schools, over the last 12 years. I’ve also taught GCSE Media and A Level Literature, along with a few years of teaching KS2 English (along with a few other Humanities based subjects). I’ve also taught Dance and Drama at Key Stage 3, I’m a qualified journalist and I’ve been Key Stage 3 English Lead on three occasions in my career! I write for pleasure still, and of course actively read for pleasure! Currently I’m reading Bill Bryson’s ‘The Body’ as I love his journalistic style, having just finished ‘Notes from a Small Island’. I possess strong experience of teaching to most exam boards - WJEC, IGCSE (I’m an accredited moderator), AQA and some Edexcel (though not Literature). I’ve privately tutored throughout my career, Year 7 to GCSE students - mainly Y10s and Y11s with achieved grades double than predicted.
