I am an experienced teacher of English Literature and Language, with expertise in creative writing, Shakespearean tragedy and a passion for social, political protest writing. I have years of experience in exam preparation and marking for both GCSE and A Level, across various exam boards. As Head of KS3 English at Fort Pitt Grammar School, I developed the Year 7/8/9 curriculum, focusing on raising reading age, offering breadth and variety in literature and transitioning to GCSE . At GCSE, working predominantly in a grammar setting, I specialised in stretch and challenge for high achievers as well as structured and tailored support for students struggling with English. Each year, I have gained highly successful GCSE results, with 100% 4-9 and over 65% achieving 7-9. I strive to support students in reaching their potential by creating an open, personal environment.
