My student's needs are always prioritised, with all lessons adapted to suit target grades and any SEN requirements. I aim to increase confidence in all skills. As an AQA Team Leader and Exam Marker, I have a thorough knowledge of GCSE English Language and Literature. Over the years, I have held the positions of Deputy Head of Key Stage Four and Head of KS5 English Language. I therefore possess a thorough understanding of the exam years and specifications, including WJEC; iGCSE English Language; iGCSE English Literature; and Functional Skills. Finally, all my students have gained entry into private sixth forms having completed the entrance examinations.

I can offer tuition in Primary English, I can create a curriculum bespoke to the student’s interests and enthusiasms so that they are motivated to learn. I also provide support to GCSE, ‘A’ level and university students who may have a very good knowledge of their subject area but require support with the skills required for academic writing such as word choice, sentence construction and organisation of essays.

Hello prospective student! I have over ten years of experience teaching languages in the northwest of England. I have taught in secondary schools (such as Manchester High School for Girls) and a number of sixth form colleges (Priestley College, Marple Sixth Form College). I teach German, Latin and Classical Greek. I am also able to teach English Language for those students wishing to brush up on grammar, vocabulary, written style and speaking skills. My experience is mainly in the secondary sector, though I am happy to teach older primary students (yr 5/6). I can teach the above languages to complete beginners through to those preparing for exams. The first thing I do is discuss with you the needs of your child and then tailor a specific programme. Feel very free to get in touch for further information or to have a chat about a possible programme of language tuition.
