I am an experienced, friendly and enthusiastic teacher of English and Drama, who has been teaching for nine years - both in the classroom and as a home tutor. I have also been a GCSE English examiner for AQA for three years. I have always been passionate about English and Drama, having achieved A grades in both subjects at A Level (including 100% scores in several modules), a 2:1 in my Bachelors Degree in English and a Distinction in my MA in Writing. It is this passion and enthusiasm that allows me to teach effectively in both a classroom and one-to-one environment. In my spare time I love reading, writing, theatre, baking, long distance running and travel.

I am a fully qualified, experienced Primary teacher and tutor. I have delivered hundreds of hours of on-line tuition and have worked with many KS2 children, including those in year 6. I would be very happy to support Eva in her preparation for this year’s SATS. My initial thoughts would be to focus on practising SATS style questions to increase Eva’s confidence as she grows more familiar with the style of question that may be asked. This approach would also allow me to identify any areas where she would benefit from focused revision, consolidating what she already knows and ensuring any gaps in knowledge or understanding are addressed. However I am happy to discuss an alternative approach if you prefer. I have access to past papers and hundreds of SATS style revision questions to provide targeted practice and revision. I usually use the interactive whiteboard in Zoom alongside videos, presentations and games to ensure lessons are interactive and enjoyable but can use an alternative platform if you wish.

Experienced Teacher in Primary Education, Special Needs and PRUs, Data Analysis, Lesson Planning, Curriculum Development, and Teacher Training. Committed to education, especially with pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds. Education is ever-changing, I am committed to this and relish change. I want every child to have the opportunity to be the best they possibly can be. As a teacher of younger children for 17 years and an SEN teacher for 7 years, I have felt the increasing pressure within the classroom to get to know and help each individual child. It is a must in my eyes and one of the most important parts of teaching. You have to get to know the child in order to know how to teach them. Each child is not just a number and a level or grade to me!! They are fantastic individuals with different personalities and learning styles. Children also need confidence in order to learn, we only get this by building relationships.
