I have been involved in Education for the last 19 years. During this time, I have had the privilege of working with individuals from the age of 3 to 30, with a range of needs. Initially I worked in Primary schools, from Reception to KS2. I then went on to gain my specialist qualifications. A PGCE in Dyslexia and Literacy, and an Assessment Practising Certificate, I then began working for myself. I currently work in school settings and privately. This involves assessing pupils and if necessary diagnosing them with Specific Learning Difficulties, such as Dyslexia. I also work with pupils, both in Primary and Secondary school. Some children I work with just need an ‘extra boost’, or specific subject support. I also give support for exam preparation, study skills, organisational strategies etc. Alongside this I work with children with complex needs such as, dyslexia and dyscalculia, ranging from 4 to 18 year olds. I also support class teachers and provide SpLD training for schools.

I am a Senior Examiner at A level for OCR and have thirty years experience as a Head of English, beginning at Wycombe Abbey School before moving on to be Assistant Head Teacher. I have been teaching online for six years with an excellent record of results and can offer excellent testimonials. I have experience in a full range of IGCSE, GCSE and A Level Specifications in both English and English Literature. As Senior Examiner I am involved in both marking and paper-setting. As a tutor I focus on interpreting for my students the assessment level descriptors that examiners will use to assess their work. That way, they know exactly what they must do to reach the level they are aiming for. I offer detailed feedback on my students` work and sample answers on every question I set them. I email students and their parents after every lesson detailing the work we have covered and giving clear targets for progress.
