Just a few of our English teachers in Camden

Ms Heather H

I have over ten years' teaching experience at both secondary schools and colleges, specialising in English and English Literature. I have also worked as a tutor for small groups of students in addition to tutoring private students, usually to help towards GCSE exams, but also to boost learning within Key Stage 3 and 2. I am happy to teach either online or one-to-one. My teaching style is based around encouragement and coaching. I believe that everyone has the ability to learn, although not always at the same pace, which is why tutoring is so good for those lacking in confidence in the classroom. I like to build a rapport with my students, to engage with them and thus help them to gain confidence and achieve their true potential. I also have experience of teaching adults with learning difficulties such as dyslexia and social difficulties and have helped them attain Functional Skills qualifications and GCSE English.

Mr Tim P

I am currently tutoring English Language and Literature from KS2 to A Level and on up to University standard. I qualified as a teacher with the London Waldorf Seminar in Baker Street and went on to teach English Language and Literature from primary to A Level in two Steiner Schools. I then worked for three years delivering literacy support to teenagers and adults with SEN at Newham College of Further Education. Furthermore, I have three years of experience privately tutoring students in English Language, Literature and Classics from GCSE to University level. My ethos lies in balancing the more individualized approach to language found in Steiner education; eliciting the strengths of a student's individual response, and enabling them to use this to dig towards the deeper and finer answers that will give them enrichment and satisfaction, and that will reach the highest marks as well.
