The 20th of August was a very good day this year; I had several emails, texts and phone calls from my students and their parents because they all achieved quite remarkable results at A-level, GCSE and Entrance Exams. It is such a joy to know that those young people are on a path to success in such turbulent times. I love literature and have been teaching for 24 years across the age groups and abilities in the public and private sectors. I was Head of English at two independent colleges and have worked abroad teaching Business English to adults and EFL to foreign students. I have been an examiner for the AQA, and an OCR A-level moderator. Ofsted graded me 'outstanding' for instilling my pupils with a love of the written word. I have worked in a special school and had training in how to deal with autism, Asperger's, dyslexia, dyspraxia, etc. Recently I have been tutoring for the Common Entrance exams and helped a boy get into the prestigious Stowe School.
