I went into teaching because I love literature and I love working with young people! I have worked in independent schools since 2005 and as a private tutor since 2013 and have taught all the major exam boards at GCSE, iGCSE and A level as well as 11+, 13+, ACT and SAT prep, and Literature at undergraduate level. I specialise in preparing students for Ripon Grammar School and for Common Entrance. Additionally, I have taught many home educated students at KS3, GCSE and A level, which is a particular passion of mine. I have examined for OCR, AQA and CIE and have also taught Drama and Theatre Studies A level. I also have many years of experience tutoring students re-taking GCSE English. I am a UK qualified teacher with 15 years of classroom experience across the whole Primary sector, from EYFS to Key Stage 2. I am also qualified to teach KS3 English. I worked for 10 years in both the state and independent sector in London, and for 5 years internationally before a relocation back to North Yorkshire. I am currently teaching a Year 5 class full time. I have extensive, recent experience of tutoring online, both one to one and with small groups, having worked in this way for a private British primary school in Poland, and a state school in the UK. This has enabled me to develop a high quality and creative online tutoring experience and I am able to teach all aspects of the curriculum this way. I am a very organised and reflective practitioner.
