Qualified and experienced teacher of Modern Languages, currently working as a full-time private tutor. Teaches German to GCSE and A Level, with experience of the current examination requirements across all the major exam boards. In addition, teaches English to GCSE level, including English Language and English Literature. Also offers 11+ entrance exam tuition and has an in-depth knowledge of the requirements for schools across Yorkshire and beyond in Maths, English, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. Frequently receives positive feedback from pupils and parents, and pupils have increased in confidence and improved their grades in the respective subject.

Pupils achieve excellent results in Year 6 SATs, 11+ and School Entrance Exams. An excellent communicator, who is able to show sensitivity and understanding towards children facing challenges and motivates all students by working with their strengths. Works by asking students open and targeted questions that encourage full answers, therefore building their self-confidence. Listens carefully to understand where students need help and systematically assesses their progress to plan next steps and to stay focused on the most important areas.

As an experienced class teacher and Deputy Head across the Primary Key Stages, I firmly believe that good quality teaching and assessment leads to progress for all children. I am a strong teacher with excellent behaviour management skills, and most of my teaching career has been working in a school with high deprivation factors, high levels of Pupil Premium and high numbers of children with EAL. I have led and managed several curriculum areas including all areas of Literacy, Computing and Assessment. I am a child protection officer and am team teach trained. I am highly organised and flexible, able to plan effective sequences of lessons, yet also be creative and “think on the spot” when needed. I am experienced in delivering all areas of the Primary Curriculum, English and Maths Functional Skills, and a range of other education related skills.
