Qualified and experienced Teacher of English and Head of Year with over 15 years' experience in a number of different settings. Currently teaches KS3 and KS4 English Literature and Language AQA board at Calder High School, regularly achieving the highest GCSE results for English (Grade 4-9) at the school for a number of years. Strong experience of working with students of all abilities and specialising in working with students to increase their confidence and self-belief to achieve higher grades something I have been successful at for many years. I have in the past worked with students that have been excluded from mainstream education and those with Special Educational Needs. Relationships are key to success, a student needs to believe they can achieve and pass their GCSE’s and this is one of my strengths. I am the SEN specialist in the English department and I have a clear understanding of each individual students needs. I teach many students with dyslexia to help them overcome barriers to learning.

Hello prospective student! I have over ten years of experience teaching languages in the northwest of England. I have taught in secondary schools (such as Manchester High School for Girls) and a number of sixth form colleges (Priestley College, Marple Sixth Form College). I teach German, Latin and Classical Greek. I am also able to teach English Language for those students wishing to brush up on grammar, vocabulary, written style and speaking skills. My experience is mainly in the secondary sector, though I am happy to teach older primary students (yr 5/6). I can teach the above languages to complete beginners through to those preparing for exams. The first thing I do is discuss with you the needs of your child and then tailor a specific programme.
