Qualified and experienced Maths, Economics and Geography Teacher with over 25 years' experience in the independent sector. Currently Head of Boarding at a prep school, teaching Maths and Geography to Year 7 and 8 and tutoring A level Economics at weekends. Plenty of recent experience with 11+ and Common Entrance, and was an Edexcel examiner for A level Economics. Teaches: Geography, English, Maths and RS at Key Stage 3; Geography and Economics at GCSE/IGCSE; and Economics A level. Also a swimming teacher who swam the English Channel in 2007 for charity.

Throughout my career to date I have endeavoured to bring great enthusiasm to all of my teaching and tutoring. As a result the vast majority of the students that I have tutored have gained high grades at GCSE and A-level, and most have continued to be successful in their university studies. While studying for my PhD I taught classes for two years to first and second year undergraduates at St. Andrews. I have also taught language classes to adult learners at Reading University Summer School, involving both beginners and intermediate students, and I am used to catering to the needs of students at various stages of their learning. My style is relaxed and I always aim to make learning enjoyable while promoting academic progress. I also encourage active participation and believe in allowing all students to comment constructively on their own progress and the different activities undertaken in lessons and tutorials. I can tutor students in English, French, History, Latin, Ancient Greek and Classical Studies.

I am a literature and linguistics Oxford graduate (although a while ago now!) I am half French and a qualified and experienced French and English teacher with a broad experience in teaching across the age and ability range both in schools and privately. I offer learning support and coaching to students of all abilities and have a wide range of resources and ideas to help motivate and build the confidence of my students. I offer French from Primary through to A level and English GCSE Language and Literature. I also greatly enjoy teaching French to adult learners. I have three teenagers of my own and also currently work in mental health. I have always been interested in the link between well-being and learning.
