I am a Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages who is close to retirement from a post in which I am Head of Department, Deputy Safeguarding Lead and Pastoral Head of Years 5-8. I am considering taking early retirement (at 55) in September and would love to continue teaching in some form so this seemed ideal. I have always had excellent results at GCSE and A-Level in French and have taught Russian, Spanish, Italian and English in my career to date and have taught across all key stages in both primary and secondary.
24 years of extensive teaching and tutoring experience across primary, middle and secondary schools and providing high-quality one-to-one tuition, including preparing children for the 11-Plus and school entrance examinations. Accurate assessment is the key to understanding the unique needs of each student and forging effective relationships with them. I passionately believe that a bespoke programme of personalised tuition can enable children to exceed their targets and grow in confidence. I currently have a number of students I'm preparing for the 11 plus online and I support them with the necessary knowledge and skills for the 11 plus and with strategies and techniques that help them to identify what the questions are asking them to do. This is vital in order to be successful. I also develop excellent relationships with the children that I teach with fun and stimulating activities in order to ensure that they make good progress. Importantly, the confidence of children and self-esteem also develops.
