I have 26 years experience as a teacher. In that time I have worked in a wide variety of both large and small settings from grammar to comprehensive schools, both state and independent. I have tutored pupils in a one to one setting throughout my career as and when time allowed. Unfortunately it has become increasingly hard to “make a difference” in a typical state school environment which is why I have made the decision to focus my time on providing one to one tuition moving forward - whether that’s helping an 11 plus candidate access the school they deserve or ensuring a GCSE English student attains the best grade they are capable of. I believe I have a good understanding of what a pupil’s true potential is. More importantly I have amassed a wide range of tools in my arsenal to enable them to achieve this potential. I entered the teaching profession because I wanted to make a difference. Nothing is more satisfying than taking someone who has been told “they can’t” and showing them that actually “they can”.
