Miss Fiona W

I am an experienced primary school teacher with Qualified Teacher Status. I have taught throughout the primary phase. I have worked with students both on a one to one basis, groups and full classes. This has also included online tuition via Zoom and Microsoft Teams alongside more traditional face to face tuition. I can support any primary school students and coach children for the 11 plus exam. I can also help children who are behind expectations in high school and support them to catch up. My excellent communication skills and solid academic background enable me to be an effective tutor particularly within the core subjects of English and maths. I work with students at Independent schools as well as those from Grammar and Non-Selective State schools. I am very approachable, focused and passionate about tutoring. I have also been an Edexcel Examiner for the Key Stage 2 Reading paper.

SUBJECTS TAUGHT:
Primary, SEN, Maths, English, Homeschool, IT Skills, School Entrance Exams, 11+, SATs
Qualifications:
PGCE Primary Education with QTS, Teach First, University of Manchester (2015). BSc (Hons) Psychology, University of Manchester (2010).

Mrs Claire W

I am a fully qualified, experienced Primary teacher and tutor. I have delivered hundreds of hours of on-line tuition and have worked with many KS2 children, including those in year 6. I would be very happy to support Eva in her preparation for this year’s SATS. My initial thoughts would be to focus on practising SATS style questions to increase Eva’s confidence as she grows more familiar with the style of question that may be asked. This approach would also allow me to identify any areas where she would benefit from focused revision, consolidating what she already knows and ensuring any gaps in knowledge or understanding are addressed. However I am happy to discuss an alternative approach if you prefer. I have access to past papers and hundreds of SATS style revision questions to provide targeted practice and revision. I usually use the interactive whiteboard in Zoom alongside videos, presentations and games to ensure lessons are interactive and enjoyable but can use an alternative platform if you wish.

SUBJECTS TAUGHT:
Primary, SEN, English, Maths, SATs, Homeschool
Qualifications:
Qualified Teacher Status, PGCE Primary (Distinction), Manchester Metropolitan University (2012) with Masters credits. BSc (Hons) Genetics, Newcastle-upon-Tyne University (1990).

Mr Matthew T

I'm an experienced lecturer and online personal tutor that has familiarity with delivering KS2-5, Study Skills, Exam Preparation, Online Level 2 and Level 3 CACHE and NCFE. I have worked as a classroom lecturer, online tutor, one to one tutor, and tutored small groups.

SUBJECTS TAUGHT:
English, English Literature, English Language, Study Skills
Qualifications:
MPhil English, University of Birmingham (2013). BA (Hons) English Literature, Language and Drama, University of Birmingham (2006).
