I studied English at University to Masters Level and worked for several years in Preparatory schools both as Deputy Head and preparing children for the 11+ in English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning for both State Grammar and Independent Senior Schools. This has involved whole class teaching of the concepts and skills required and one to one modelling of exam answers and practice papers. I now combine my love of writing with my fascination with the world as the Head of Geography in an independent school. I am used to working with pupils at different ability levels and have a strong track record with exam results in English and Geography using various tools, particularly exam answer modelling, to help students achieve the best possible outcomes. My English helps me to support students with the quality of writing overall and specifically writing in Geography.

I have over 15 years' experience teaching English to Years 7 to 13 across various exam boards including AQA, WJEC and iGCSE. Most recently, I taught at a girls grammar school and have also taught in comprehensives and have extensive experience working with a range of abilities, including students with additional needs. I am enthusiastic, patient and genuinely love teaching. Additionally, I have considerable experience teaching Intervention sessions to individuals and small groups, alongside private tuition both online and in person. I can demonstrate that my students have made excellent progress and achieved their target grades. I teach English at Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level and can offer tailored lessons in order to meet the requirements of the student with a considerable background in working with individuals.
