Mr Omar K

Qualified and experienced teacher of Computer Science (up to GCSE), with 12 years of experience teaching in an Ark Academy as well as at an Independent School. I still teach full time and I am the computer science subject lead (Head of Department) for computer science in my current position. I have taught the AQA board and was an examiner. I currently teach the new OCR specification. I worked in the IT industry for 15 years before transitioning to teaching so I have lots of practical experience behind the theory that I teach. As a teacher, I hold a QTS. I completed a BA(Hons) in information management and Finance as well as a PGDip in Computer science. I have also taken over 20 Microsoft / Cisco qualifications in my time in the IT industry. I like to think that I specialise in chunking information for students to easy digest and intellectually chew over as well as checking for understanding. I can motivate students when the going gets tough and recognise the student thinking patterns to correct or stretch.
