Qualified and experienced Science Teacher, currently teaching at a local secondary school. Teaches Chemistry up to A level and offers Physics, Biology and Combined Science through to GCSE and IGCSE. Subject leader at Key Stage 3. My specialism is Chemistry; however, I have had the opportunity to develop my knowledge thoroughly in Physics and Biology up to and including KS4. As a science teacher, I do not like to be dictatorial and my teaching styles reflect this as I try to incorporate pupil interactive lessons using practical activities as I strongly believe that children learn better by taking an active role. I feel collaborative learning is important in my classroom.

I am available to teach science 1 to 1 or small group sessions, some weekdays/evenings/weekends. I currently do tuition for GCSE-Biology, Chemistry & Physics so am very familiar with the syllabus (particularly AQA) and outcomes required by students to reach full potential, I incorporate exam questions into the session as it is vital they understand what is required to answer examinations-knowledge and technique. lI have been in full time teaching for 27 years. I have extensive teaching experience in both KS3 & KS4 which includes teaching high ability groups, borderline students and SEN students. I have a track record of students exceeding their target grade in my teaching career. I have extensive experience of teaching core, additional and triple science and have been currently employed by Academies on a yearly basis to work with a targeted group of students as they found that my input had a very positive impact on the results.
