Titia G

Qualified Teacher Status.

Member since 2015 Mrs Titia G

I have been teaching since 2004 after a fairly long career as a software engineer. I worked as an A level Maths teacher in Spelthorne College and as a Maths and Science Teacher in Herschel Grammar School in Slough. My most recent job was teaching Maths GCSE at Brigidine's School in Windsor. I am now a full-time Maths and Science tutor. My training as a computer scientist was invaluable and I am fortunate to have very strong analytical skills. Each child has the same potential, but each child has a different history, so it is important for me to know how the students mind is working so I can help them to think and communicate more effectively. Because most of my students are A level students and most need a minimum of A*AA to get into their courses of choice I have spent many years developing Maths and Science GCSE and A level Courses in order to get the top grades. We work hard, but we also have fun and enjoy learning, I get on incredibly well with my students and I ensure my students are always ahead of their class so they can gain more from their lessons at school.

Michael P

Member since 2020 Mr Michael P

I am a science teacher with a specialism in physics but teach all sciences from Year 7 to 11. I teach physics up to A-level and sometimes teach maths up to GCSE. I have tutored for over 5 years, including 2 years as a full time tutor. I have also taught in secondary for over 4 years. I generally teach with a traditional style, emphasising the progression from basics through to mastery. However, I do build in opportunities to explore the topics using discussion as tutoring presents a unique opportunity to gently develop students' understanding in such a personalised way. My students enjoy my lessons. They are stretched beyond what they otherwise would be in school as they have individualised support and know they can push themselves and will be guided well even if they make mistakes. I have helped many students reach their aims, including students desperate to get a pass and students who want to secure top grades.
