As a tutor, I work with all children particularly with those working at very low levels whether they are in or out of school and equally support students across KS3 and KS4, and Post-16, irrespective of their starting point and additional needs, in Maths, English, Science, including Functional Skills in Maths, English and Study Skills.

Miss Siobhan G

I am a confident, outgoing science teacher specialising in biology. I am also confident in chemistry and physics. I have been at my current school for five years and currently teach KS3 and GCSE students following the AQA exam board. However I have tutored a lot of students who follow the edexcel qualification and am up to date on this. I strive to make all of science accessible and enjoyable for students, relating topics to real life, and working through areas student find tough until it clicks for them. I have taught a range of abilities and SEN needs while at my current school while also leading the STEM program, aiming to engage all students. My aim with tutoring is to spend the time with a student, understanding their barriers and working on any area that they need as much as they need until they feel more happy with it. This can then be built on using exam questions to cement their understanding and hopefully it is then embedded ready for exams.

SUBJECTS TAUGHT:
Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics
Qualifications:
PGCE Science, Manchester Metropolitan University (2016). BSc (Hons) Equine Science, University of Lincoln (2012).

Ms Jennifer M

I have almost 15 years of teaching science, specialising in chemistry at GCSE and A-level, across three different schools. I love teaching and supporting students to reach their full potential; I have always had excellent results across all abilities of student and have had plenty of grade 9 at GCSE and A* at A-level. I am currently a Head of Science, a role I have held for 5 years. My degree is a 2:1 in medicinal chemistry, and I can teach across all of the GCSE subjects at combined science level. I would prefer to only tutor chemistry at triple GCSE level and A-level. I currently teach the AQA courses but have previously taught OCR at both GCSE and A-level. I have tutoring experience at GCSE and A-level, all students having brought their grades up to at least an A grade/grade 8. I prefer online tutoring in the current climate and have a whiteboard at home to assist with this. My own A-level background is of A grades in seven subjects, and I have published a book supporting early chemical understanding.

SUBJECTS TAUGHT:
Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics
Qualifications:
NPQSL (senior leadership in education) (2020). CSciTeach (Chartered Science Teacher, ASE) (2019), PGCE, University of Bath (2007). BSc (Hons) Chemistry for Drug Discovery, University of Bath (2006)
