I’m an enthusiastic Teacher of Science with experience in helping learners understand Biology, Chemistry and Physics concepts at combined science GCSE and triple Biology GCSE levels. I have taught Biology to A-Level standards and have a particular fondness for helping students that struggle with exam technique. I do this by helping them navigate difficult scientific terminology, defining command words embedded within exam questions and breaking down complex processes into manageable chunks.
I have almost 15 years of teaching science, specialising in chemistry at GCSE and A-level, across three different schools. I love teaching and supporting students to reach their full potential; I have always had excellent results across all abilities of student and have had plenty of grade 9 at GCSE and A* at A-level. I am currently a Head of Science, a role I have held for 5 years. My degree is a 2:1 in medicinal chemistry, and I can teach across all of the GCSE subjects at combined science level. I would prefer to only tutor chemistry at triple GCSE level and A-level. I currently teach the AQA courses but have previously taught OCR at both GCSE and A-level. I have tutoring experience at GCSE and A-level, all students having brought their grades up to at least an A grade/grade 8. I prefer online tutoring in the current climate and have a whiteboard at home to assist with this. My own A-level background is of A grades in seven subjects, and I have published a book supporting early chemical understanding.
