"Teachers To Your Home" provides the highest quality 13+ Tuition in Bexley, at your home and convenience. We work with over 18,000 qualified teachers across the UK, who also choose to offer their professional skills as high quality home tutors.

Our specialist School Entrance Examination Tutors have considerable experience in preparing children for entry into Senior Schools, including Year 7 and Year 9 Independent School Entrance Examinations, the 11+ and 13+ for Grammar School Entry, Common Entrance and Scholarship Preparation. A significant number of our tutors currently work as teachers within the Independent and Grammar School Sectors and have thorough knowledge and experience of the process.

The majority of parents request 13+ tuition from Year 7 or Year 8 and the usual pattern is for weekly one-hour lessons. Initially, teachers will ensure a rich and rigorous foundation before preparing children towards the demands of the exam itself; and in building confidence and exam technique.

What families are saying about our tutors this week

"We our very happy with the 11+ teacher you have provided for Thomas. She is very friendly and encouraging. Thank you."

18 December 2018; review received from Mrs Jayne G, Year 4 son, 11+ Tuition Manchester

"RB is a great tutor. She is not only engaging, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable and she also makes learning fun. It is really reassuring to overhear the buzz when RB and our daughter are in full flow working through the topics that prior to RB’s magic seemed incomprehensible, but are now being discussed with energy and focus. Our daughter says she’s learned more in three double sessions than she has picked up over several weeks in school. So I have no doubt that RB's approach will have a positive impact not only on the science subjects but taught but also a positive outcome on other subjects too because our daughter is more relaxed and confident and now believes that she can do it. "

18 December 2018; review received from Mrs Linda S, Year 10 daughter GCSE Triple Science (AQA) in Dunstable

"Mrs H is a very good high quality 11+ teacher. This is a much better arranagement than the 11+ tuition centre, which L has attended for the last six months. "

17 December 2018; review received from Mrs Boothroyd, Year 5 daughter, 11+ tuition in Cheshire

What is Common Entrance and the 13+ Examination?

The Common Entrance Examination (also known as CE or the 13+ Examination) is an examination still strongly supported by many of the top Prep and Independent Senior Schools in the UK. It is regarded as a rigorous and broad-based test; providing a strong academic focus for pupils in Years 7 and 8, an excellent preparation for GCSEs, and a good predictor for future academic potential.

Pupils sit for their Common Entrance Examination when they are in Year 8. Many of the best schools now offer pre-tests in Year 7, to identify suitable candidates. There are three examination sessions each year, generally in November, January and May/June.

There are a number of compulsory core subjects; which include English, Mathematics and Science. In addition, CE candidates can sit papers in a wide range of subjects chosen from: French, Geography, German, Classical Greek, History, Latin, Mandarin Chinese, Religious Studies and Spanish. Tuition for Common Entrance generally begins a year or two in advance of the exam.
